Accessibility Checker

Every Upanup Drupal site comes with a built in accessibility checker. The checker highlights potential accessibility issues by populating yellow question marks on relevant content and pages. To reveal more information about the warning and tips to fix the issue, simply hover over it.

When reviewing accessibility warnings, logged in users can choose to "hide the warning," "mark OK for all users," or close the message to be revisited at another time. Note, these actions will not fix any accessibility issues, only hide or remove the warning.

To open the accessibility checker, click on the yellow circle in the bottom right corner of the page. This will expand the view to provide an outline of the issues within the current page. To view warnings for the entire site, click “View site-wide reports” for the top accessibility issues.

There are new features in Drupal 10 relating to Accessibility. The accessibility checker previously located in the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Editor has now been moved to have a more prominent location on the front end.

When reviewing a page as a logged in user, you can see yellow circles with a question mark (?) highlighting potential accessibility issues directly overtop of the content it relates to. Hover over the circle to review additional information about the warning. You can choose to “hide the warning”, “mark OK for all users” or close the message.
These warnings also appear in the bottom right hand corner of the screen where you can review again.
To open up the accessibility checker, click on the yellow circle button in the bottom right corner of your browser. This will expand the view to provide an outline of the issues.
There is also a link within this view titled “View site-wide reports” which provides the editor with a view of top accessibility issues for resolving.
Improvements to Link Accessibility in Drupal 10 include links that display file format and size. You can also incorporate accessible image links!
